Shell beads are made of an oysters' inner shell.
The oysters' nacre is milled to a fine powder and then mechanically applied to a small bead made of the oysters' shell.

The bead's core should be made of nacre and shell and not glass or even plastic.
Due to this special manufacturing process shell beads are always perfectly round, have a beautiful shimmer and are an inexpensive alternative to real Tahiti- or South Seas' pearls.

Shell beads are 100% organic and can and should be treated just like real pearls.
